Student Clinic

The Waikato Centre for Herbal Medicine has a busy student clinic, established to provide practical clinical experience to Intern Medical Herbalists (students in their final year) from the Diploma in Herbal Medicine programme.

The clinic room available to student practitioners is located at the Centre, 128 Bankwood Road, Hamilton.

Clients are booked through the students themselves and also through a booking service at Centre or referred by the Herbal Shop & Clinic, where the general public are offered this option alongside other professional consultations.

All students are supervised by the qualified Medical Herbalists on staff and no medicinal formulas are dispensed without prior approval, ensuring a safe and effective service to customers.

Distance learning students studying from outside of Hamilton are supervised in the same manner. Students outside the Waikato will establish their own student practice in their area/community and are not required to relocate to Hamilton.

The student clinic offers excellent training that builds self-confidence, provides clinical experience alongside experienced Medical Herbalists and allows trainees to work hands-on with people in a wide variety of different health situations.
